Breyden Pry lived in what he thought was the perfect society ruled by an Intergalactic Government for the people. Trained since birth by his father to be an elite commando and enrolled in the best military academy, his destiny seemed certain. He would hunt and destroy those trying to bring down their perfect utopia of equality.
But, a teenage indiscretion makes him the target of an underground group claiming Breyden has evidence that proves the all knowing, all controlling government is the real enemy. In his efforts to find the truth, Breyden discovers how difficult it is to hide things from the watchful eyes of the government and his father. As everyone who aids him in his efforts disappears to the remote prison plant Centalpha 6.
During Breyden’s attempt to retrieve the evidence hidden at his home, that would prove the People’s Government murdered an innocent woman and then covered it up, his father was waiting. His effort to seize this information will endanger everyone associated with Breyden and will lead him to become a slave to the very system he opposes.

I don't normally do a review but I liked this series enough that I felt I had to. I got Part 1 for free and was hooked that I bought the omnibus. That is saying a lot, almost 99% of my books I get are the freebies, a book really has to move me to make me buy the next part.The story is well written and fast paced. A lot of action and the author doesn't keep you waiting long with any cliffhangers which at 91 pages an episode, would be frustrating as hell to have to wait multiple episodes for resolutions so the author can get you to buy more...I'd rather buy the next episode because the action keeps going.
The only annoying thing in the book, is Maya... For someone who grew up in the underground, her character sucks. She knows the bad guys are around and can't remember to whisper, she shouts and they all tell her to be quite and she cringes and looks around and then does it again. She also acts like a 14 yr old girl around Breyden, needy and clingy then off putting. Her demanding she will go with him to a dangerous place to watch over him is laughable because she has a leg wound and can't keep quite and acts hapless and helpless. The resistance (Sampson) would be insane to take her with them as her character is the typical helpless female that makes dumb mistakes and needs to be saved... Why couldn't she be more like Jenny.
So please Todd if you read this, please make Maya grow a backbone and "man" up or kill her off because her slapping Breyden for making her worried because he got sent to slave planet and is trying to save the universe is just insulting and dumb and almost made me want to turn my back on the series.

If you are a fan of fast paced,grip the edge of the seat,can't put it down action you will love this series.
